Our History
Our history has deep roots that have made MASS Srl a benchmark in the world of tools.
Early 1980s
In the Alto Milanese area, Tecnotranc Srl was founded, a mechanical workshop specialising in sheet metal processing. The company produced items for hardware wholesalers, such as wire pullers and multipurpose load-bearing hooks.
The patented professional wire puller Tira-Tira was created, the first in the world to pull from both sides, and it soon established itself as a leading product in the nursery and agricultural sector.
Late 1980s
Tecnotranc Srl expanded its range with the production of snow shovels. The success achieved led to the search for a brand to personalise the new products: the Mass brand was created, highlighting the maximum quality of the products.
The growing expertise acquired in aluminium alloy stamping led to the creation of a product that would revolutionise the construction industry: the first aluminium alloy shovel in the world was created, immediately named superlight, painted gold, and launched under the Royal Mass brand.
Early 1990s
Riding the wave of success in the construction sector with the superlight shovel, the hammer Ingegnere Mass was launched, aiming from the very beginning to become one of the most appreciated hammers on building sites.
The Mass brand became increasingly oriented towards professional construction, driven by constant trade fair promotion and the spontaneous advocacy of satisfied users.
Late 1990s
After hammers and shovels, another unique product was born: with an invention patent, the Idea Mass plate for circular formworks was created, revolutionising reinforcements on construction sites.
A general catalogue was launched to include all Mass products, and national trade fairs in the sector enabled ever greater commercial expansion, supported by an increasingly extensive sales network.
2000s
Tecnotranc Srl became Mass Srl.
The quality of the products became increasingly identified with their signature: the Mass brand became the new company name, and the new headquarters in Sumirago was inaugurated.
Meanwhile, the relentless work of selection, research, and development of new patented quality products continued: the Sicur Rapid Mass scaffolding key holder, the Excalibur line of chisels, and other innovations expanded the range.
2010s
The success of the superlight shovels went beyond national borders and projected the Mass brand into Europe.
Significant investments made it possible to create new moulds for international models and to participate in the most prestigious European trade fairs.
The Superlight shovel reached France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland.
2020s
Despite the crises and difficulties faced by the markets, Mass Srl managed to grow, increasing turnover, the number of customers, and the range of products offered, while always remaining faithful to quality.
The company needed to expand by optimising logistics with a new facility, while also paying attention to the demands of the times: clean energy production was further increased with a second photovoltaic system.
